Summary

In this postgraduate thesis, the topic of thermal analysis in hot die casting mold will be developed, from which a cast object is produced and specifically a handle, where as a construction material has zinc alloy zamak5 against (ASTM AC41A), with the corresponding mechanical physical properties and chemical composition of the manufacturing company Nyrstar.Initially, the development of the theoretical part will include the presentation of the casting process, the technical characteristics of the machine, the raw material, the casting parameters, as well as the technology of the selected mold, in terms of construction material and morphology.Then, using the ANSYS Workbench simulation software, a detailed analysis of heat distribution during casting will be performed on the basic parts of the mold such as movable part, fixed part, cone, puller plate, skeleton and cooling channels, from the entry of the liquid metal to its solidification, resulting in the production of a molded object.The collection of information related to the subject, such as .prt files of the selected mold, object, etc. were collected by CONVEX SA after approval of the owner and with the participation of the competent executives.
