Η εργασία αναλύει την ανάγκη για κοινωνική κατοικία στην περιοχή, λαμβάνοντας υπόψη τις κοινωνικές, και περιβαλλοντικές πτυχές της τοπικής κοινότητας.
Αρχικά, γίνεται μια ανάλυση της ευρύτερης περιοχής και των κοινωνικών προβλημάτων που αντιμετωπίζουν, όπως η έλλειψη προσιτής κατοικίας. Στη συνέχεια, παρουσιάζεται ο σχεδιασμός του συγκροτήματος κοινωνικής κατοικίας, λαμβάνοντας υπόψη τις ανάγκες και τις προκλήσεις της περιοχής.
Ο σχεδιασμός περιλαμβάνει την ανάπτυξη κατοικιών που στοχεύει στις ισάξιες συνθήκες διαβίωσης των κατοίκων. Επιπλέον σημαντικός παράγοντας ήταν ο πλούσιος φυσικός βιότοπος της περιοχής που γίνεται προσπάθεια ένταξης αυτού, στην κλίμακα του συγκροτήματος. Το σχέδιο προβλέπει επίσης τη δημιουργία κοινόχρηστων χώρων και εγκαταστάσεων που θα προάγουν την αλληλεπίδραση και την κοινότητα μεταξύ των κατοίκων.
Η διπλωματική εργασία αποτελεί μια προσπάθεια να προσφέρει μια ολοκληρωμένη προσέγγιση για την αντιμετώπιση του προβλήματος της κοινωνικής κατοικίας στα Χανιά και μπορεί να αποτελέσει μια χρήσιμη βάση για μελλοντικές πρωτοβουλίες και έργα στον τομέα αυτό.
