Στον σύγχρονο οικονομικό κόσμο άλλωστε, η στροφή προς τις ηθικά, κοινωνικά και περιβαλλοντικά υπεύθυνες επιχειρήσεις είναι φανερή. Εύκολα λοιπόν, μπορεί κανείς να καταλάβει ότι από τις μικρότερες οντότητες έως τις πολύ μεγαλύτερες αλλά και τα χρηματοπιστωτικά ιδρύματα, η σημαντικότητα που δίνεται σε τέτοιου είδους επιχειρήσεις είναι αρκετά μεγάλη καθώς πέρα από την βιωσιμότητα μπορούν να προκύψουν και αρκετά κέρδη. 
Στο πρώτο κεφάλαιο της εργασίας, θα γίνει παρουσίαση της χρηματοοικονομικής θεωρίας δεικτών και της αναγκαιότητάς τους στην αξιολόγηση των επιχειρήσεων. Ακόμη, θα γίνει αναφορά στην βιώσιμη ανάπτυξη των εταιριών, την ιστορία της, όπως επίσης και στους λόγους για τους οποίους κάποιος αξίζει να επενδύσει στην βιώσιμη ανάπτυξη. 
Στο δεύτερο κεφάλαιο, θα γίνει αναφορά στην μεθοδολογία της πολυκριτήριας ανάλυσης. Αναλυτικότερα, θα παρουσιαστεί η διαδικασία λήψης αποφάσεων, καθώς και τα θεωρητικά ρεύματα που την χαρακτηρίζουν, όπως επίσης και τα βήματα που πρέπει να εκτελεστούν κατά την εφαρμογή της πολυκριτήριας ανάλυσης. Η μέθοδος που χρησιμοποιήθηκε προκειμένου να γίνει ανάλυση του δείγματος, η μέθοδος PROMETHEE II, θα αναλυθεί επίσης στην συγκεκριμένη ενότητα όπως και η διαδικασία που ακολουθήθηκε προκειμένου να προετοιμαστεί και να αναλυθεί το δείγμα.
Στο τρίτο κεφάλαιο, πραγματοποιείται η παρουσίαση και ο σχολιασμός των αποτελεσμάτων, τόσο με χρήση της μεθοδολογίας PROMETHEE II, όσο και η συσχέτισή των αποτελεσμάτων με τις βαθμολογίες ESG των εναλλακτικών.  
Τέλος, στο τέταρτο κεφάλαιο παρουσιάζονται τα συμπεράσματα του αναλυτή καθώς και οι απόψεις του σχετικά με την εκπονηθείσα εργασία.
