Η διττή σημασία του, ξεφεύγει από τις στερεοτυπικές ερμηνείες της μωρίας και της οκνηρίας καθώς προσφέρει επιμορφωτικές ιδιότητες, που με την σωστή τους χρήση προάγουν την παραγωγικότητα και την δημιουργικότητα. Έννοιες, βαθιά 
εμφωλευμένες στον κλάδο της αρχιτεκτονικής, στον οποίο παρεμβαίνουν οι θεωρίες του παιχνιδιού. Το παιχνίδι λειτουργεί ως σύμφυτο στοιχείο της αρχιτεκτονικής σύνθεσης, μέσω των δυνατοτήτων που προσφέρονται στον σχεδιαστή εντός και εκτός των εικονικών χώρων.
Στην παρούσα εργασία μελετάται η θεωρητική τεκμηρίωση , ανάλυση του παιχνιδιού και των εικονικών χώρων στην αρχιτεκτονική. Ως βασικός άξονας μελέτης αποτελεί η σύζευξη τους, υπό την μορφή βιντεοπαιχνίδιων, αναλύοντάς 
τα από την σκοπιά του χρήστη, των εργαλείων μορφοπλασίας χώρου και της ικανότητάς τους για σύνθεση αφηγηματικής αλληλουχίας. Με στόχο την διαλεύκανση των παραπάνω θεμάτων, προσπαθούμε να απαντήσουμε στο ερώτημα αν τα βιντεοπαιχνίδια λειτουργούν ως μέσο αρωγής του αρχιτέκτονα
