Το χωριό ως ανθρώπινο κατασκεύασμα διαμορφώνεται από μία αρχιτεκτονική άτυπη, λαϊκή, μαστορική, ανώνυμη. Η ανώνυμη αρχιτεκτονική εμπεριέχει επεμβάσεις σε κτίρια που αποκλίνουν από τον αρχικό τους τύπο και τον τροποποιούν για να εξυπηρετήσουν τις ανάγκες της καθημερινότητας. Αυτές οι αυθαίρετες επεμβάσεις διαμορφώνουν ένα παλίμψηστο διαφορετικών ιστορικών περιόδων. Πως όμως μπορεί αυτή η πολυπλοκότητα της αυθαιρεσίας να μετατραπεί σε σχεδιαστικό εργαλείο; 
Ξεκινώντας με την καταγραφή του αρχιτεκτονικού αποθέματος του χωριού, συγκεκριμένα των Στερνών Ακρωτηρίου, δημιουργούμε ένα αρχιτεκτονικό λεξιλόγιο της αυθαιρεσίας, το οποίο στη συνέχεια αξιολογούμε και τελικά μέσα από την επανερμηνεία του το ανάγουμε σε συνθετικό μέσο. Η μελέτη εστιάζει στο ανενεργό, ιστορικό συγκρότημα νότια του χωριού. To κτιριακό συγκρότημα είναι στραμμένο στον ιστορικό πυρήνα και βρίσκεται , σε κομβική θέση, στο μεταίχμιο του παλιού και του νέου ιστού του οικισμού. Το ερειπωμένο κέλυφος ενεργοποιείται αποκτώντας δημόσιο χαρακτήρα και λειτουργία. Ταυτόχρονα η πρόθεση αυτή υποστηρίζεται από τη διαμόρφωση δικτύων δημόσιων χώρων που από την μία αποκαθιστούν τη σχέση του νέου και του παλιού ιστού και από την άλλη οργανώνουν υπολειμματικούς χώρους σε έναν περίπατο συνάντησης με την “αυθαιρεσία”.
