Ως μελέτες περίπτωσης επιλέγονται τα καταστήματα-ναυαρχίδες των γαλλικών οίκων μόδας Louis Vuitton και Dior λόγω της μακράς παράδοσης και σημαντικής απήχισης τους. Ο ρόλος της ιστορικότητας στην ταυτότητα των brands τεκμηριώνεται μέσα από την σύγκριση των αντίστοιχων καταστημάτων στην ιστορική Champs-Elysees στο Παρίσι και την απόλυτα σύγχρονη Omotesando στο Τόκιο. 
Το μάρκετινγκ εταιριών ειδών πολυτελείας που βασίζεται στην βιωματική εμπειρία είναι μια αυξανόμενη τάση παγκοσμίως, ειδικά στον χώρο της μόδας. Σκοπός του είναι η ενίσχυση του προϊόντος με ένα σύνολο διαδραστικών εμπειριών που ενεργοποιούν όλες τις αισθήσεις αλλά και την ανθρώπινη επικοινωνία. Από την δεκαετία του 80΄ τα πολυτελή brands μόδας χρησιμοποιούν τη στρατηγική αυτή στα σύγχρονα καταστήματα-ναυαρχίδες τους. Ο παράγοντας της ιστορικότητας καθορίζει πολλές από τις επιλογές τους.  Τα καταστήματα αυτά σχεδιάστηκαν από διάσημους αρχιτέκτονες για να γίνουν οι μακρόβιες αρχιτεκτονικές ενσαρκώσεις αλλά και σύμβολα των οίκων που εκπροσωπούν όπου η ιστορικότητα είναι πρόδηλη.
