Πιο αναλυτικά, έγινε διερεύνηση της προσροφητικής ικανότητας του αναγμένου οξειδίου του γραφενίου RGO#1, για την απομάκρυνση της αντικαταθλιπτικής ουσίας Fluoxetine.
Παράλληλα, διερευνήθηκε η επίδραση διαφόρων παραγόντων όπως η θερμοκρασία, το pH, η ιοντική ισχύς και η υδατική μήτρα, στην προσρόφηση της αντικαταθλιπτικής ουσίας. 
Η προσρόφηση της Fluoxetine στα δείγματα αναγμένου οξειδίου του γραφενίου RGO#1, μελετήθηκε με τα μοντέλα Langmuir (συντελεστής συσχέτισης R2=0.99) και Freundlich (συντελεστής συσχέτισης R2=0.92). Η μέγιστη συγκέντρωση της Fluoxetine στην επιφάνεια του στερεού RGO#1, στους 40οC είχε την μεγαλύτερη τιμή 0,581 μmol/mg, σε σχέση με τις τιμές των θερμοκρασιών 10οC και 25οC, οι οποίες ήταν 0,378 μmol/mg και 0,483 μmol/mg αντίστοιχα. Επιπλέον, η αύξηση του pH επηρεάζει θετικά την προσρόφηση. Επίσης, η προσροφητική ικανότητα της Fluoxetine σε RGO#1 μειώνεται παρουσία λυμάτων.
Τέλος, έγινε θερμοδυναμική μελέτη της προσρόφησης της Fluoxetine σε RGO#1, σε τρείς διαφορετικές θερμοκρασίες. Η θερμοδυναμική μελέτη, έδειξε ότι η προσρόφηση της Fluoxetine  είναι μια αυθόρμητη και ενδόθερμη διαδικασία. Επίσης, το θετικό πρόσημο της πρότυπης εντροπίας ΔS0 υποδεικνύει ότι η Fluoxetine έχει συγγένεια με το ανθρακούχο προσροφητικό υλικό που χρησιμοποιήθηκε στην συγκεκριμένη διπλωματική εργασία.
