The case of Porto Ερευνητική Εργασία Diploma Thesis Project 2019-10-072019elΜε αφορμή την πρόσφατη διαμονή και τα ταξίδια στη χώρα της Πορτογαλίας δημιουργήθηκε η ανάγκη για μελέτη της αρχιτεκτονικής της σε βάθος, καθώς τόσο ο αστικός χώρος, όσο και η ύπαιθρός της παρουσιάζουν ιδιαίτερο ενδιαφέρον. Οι γραφικές αξίες που συναντά κανείς στους παραδοσιακούς οικισμούς της ενδοχώρας και στα ιστορικά κέντρα των μεγαλουπόλεών της είναι κοινές με αυτές που εντοπίζονται στον μεσογειακό χώρο, αλλά φέρουν πάντα τη σφραγίδα της πορτογαλικής κουλτούρας. Το μυστικό που προσπαθεί να ξεκλειδωθεί στην παρούσα έρευνα αφορά στα αρχιτεκτονικά γνωρίσματα που κρύβουν τις γραφικές αυτές αξίες και στον εντοπισμό τους σε οικιστικά σύνολα της Μεσογείου και πιο συγκεκριμένα στο ιστορικό κέντρο της πόλης του Πόρτο.This thesis is a result of the recent stay and trips all around the land of Portugal, which created the need to study and research about Portuguese architecture deeply, as both the urban space and the inland of the country are very interesting. The picturesque values that can be found in the traditional settlements of the inland and the historic city centres are the same with those that can be found in the Mediterranean area, but they always have the imprinting of the Portuguese culture.
