We report the synthesis, structures, characterisation and magnetic properties of seven compounds, (NHEt3)[MnIII(3-MeOsal)2(MeOH)(H2O)] (1), [NaMnIII(3-MeO-sal)2(MeOH)2] (2), [NaMnIII(sal)2(H2O)(MeOH)] · (MeOH) (3), [KMnIII(sal)2(H2O)(MeOH)] · (MeOH) (4), [MnIIMn2 III(3-MeOsal)4(py)6(H2O)2] · 4H2O, (5), [MnIIMn2 III(3-MeO-sal)4(py)4(H2O)4] · 4MeOH, (6) and [MnIIMn2 III(3-MeO-sal)4(2,2′-bipy)(H2O)3(MeOH)2] · 3MeOH (7).
