We present the Split-AC algorithm, which is a reconfigurable variation of the AC algorithm that exploits domain-specific characteristics of intrusion detection to reduce considerably the FSM memory requirements. SplitAC achieves an overall reduction between 28-75% compared to the best proposed implementation.</efrbr-expression:summarizationOfContent><efrbr-expression:useRestrictionsOnTheExpression type="creative-commons">http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0/</efrbr-expression:useRestrictionsOnTheExpression><efrbr-expression:note type="page range">186 - 193</efrbr-expression:note><efrbr-expression:note type="conference name">International Conference on Embedded Computer Systems: Architectures, Modeling and Simulation</efrbr-expression:note></efrbr-expression:expression><efrbr-person:person identifier="http://users.isc.tuc.gr/~ipapaefstathiou"><efrbr-person:nameOfPerson vocabulary="TUC:LDAP">
