More specifically, the particle swarm optimization method is chosen. This method is a population based optimization algorithm. It is a totally stochastic technique that simulates the movement of particles towards the optimum solution. The tuned controllers, which resulted from the optimization process, are tested for a wide range of different external loadings in order to examine the comprehensiveness of the proposed method in various excitation cases.
