A dynamic model for a building structure under earthquake and wind excitations is considered. Structured uncertainties are introduced to reflect errors between the mo- del and the reality. To obtain the best possible performance in the face of uncertainties, robust H∞ optimal control for the active control structu- re is used. Relevant numerical techniques, which have been implemented with the help of MATLAB routines, are applied to solve the formula- ted structural control problem. By proper selection of the weight factor, the seismic response of the building structure can be reduced conside- rably.
