Ο απευθείας υπολογισμός των αποτελεσμάτων μίας προσομοίωσης με ετερογενή υλικά είναι συχνά χρονοβόρος. Για αυτό συχνά είναι απαραίτητη μία άλλη προσέγγιση. Η λύση που εξετάζεται σε αυτή την εργασία είναι η ομογενοποίηση. Η δημιουργία δηλαδή ενός μόνο υλικού που έχει τις μέσες ιδιότητες των διαφόρων υλικών μίας σύνθετης κατασκευής. Σε αυτήν την εργασία έγινε μία προσπάθεια να ομογενοποιηθεί μία κατασκευή που αποτελείται από ένα πιεζοηλεκτρικό και ένα ελαστικό υλικό. Τα πιεζοηλεκτρικά υλικά έχουν την μοναδική ιδιότητα να μετατρέπουν την ηλεκτρική φόρτιση σε μηχανική και το αντίστροφο. Η μέθοδος που εφαρμόστηκε στο τρισδιάστατο μοντέλο μπορεί να δώσει εύκολα αποτελέσματα καθώς με την βοήθεια εννιά περιπτώσεων φόρτισης υπολογίζεται με μία απλή πράξη κάθε μία από τους παραμέτρους του πιεζοσύνθετου υλικού.
