Στην παρούσα διπλωματική εργασία υλοποιήθηκε μια μέθοδος σχεδίασης Φ/Β αντιστροφέων στην οποία λαμβάνονται υπόψη τα μετεωρολογικά στοιχεία της περιοχής εγκατάστασης του Φ/Β συστήματος, καθώς και η αξιοπιστία του αντιστροφέα. Χρησιμοποιούνται κατάλληλα μαθηματικά μοντέλα για τον υπολογισμό του αριθμού βλαβών του Φ/Β αντιστροφέα σε κάθε χρόνο λειτουργίας του και στη συνέχεια εξετάζεται η επίδραση της αξιοπιστίας του αντιστροφέα σε σχέση με δείκτες επίδοσης όπως είναι το κόστος ανά μονάδα παραγόμενης ενέργειας, η συνολική παραγόμενη ενέργεια και το συνολικό κόστος κατασκευής και συντήρησης του αντιστροφέα.
