Η παρούσα εργασία επικεντρώνεται σε συγκεκριμένες θεωρίες που μέσω της βιωματικής και αντιληπτικής χωρικής προσέγγισης, αμφισβητούν τις μορφοκρατικές και ρασιοναλιστικές μεθόδους κατανόησης και διαχείρισης του αρχιτεκτονημένου χώρου. Στόχος της έρευνας είναι να μελετήσει αυτές τις αντιπροσωπευτικές θεωρίες για την κατανόηση του χωρικού σχεδιασμού της ατμόσφαιρας, εξετάζοντας σε πρώτη φάση τις θεωρίες της υπαρξιστικής φαινομενολογίας, σε δεύτερη φάση εστιάζει στην έννοια του τόπου, ως συγκεκριμένο εδαφικό τοπίο και ως συγκεκριμένο πολιτισμικό πλαίσιο και σε τρίτη φάση στα συνθετικά χαρακτηριστικά της φαινομενολογίας όπως το φως, η υλικότητα, η ατμόσφαιρα, η σωματικότητα και η άμεση σωματική βιωματική εμπειρία σε σχέση με τις αισθήσεις. Η θεωρητική έρευνα υποστήρίζεται από συγκεκριμένα παραδείγματα στην αρχιτεκτονική που μέσω των σχεδιαστικών αρχών και των συνθετικών αρχών τους οδηγούν σε μια ποιοτική κατανόηση του πολυδιάστατου χωρικού φαινομένου και κατ’ επέκταση σε έναν περισσότερο ανθρωποκεντρικό σχεδιασμό. Καταλήγει στο συμπέρασμα ότι είναι ουσιώδες, ως αρχιτέκτονας, να έχει κανείς υπόψη του τι ενεργοποιεί τις αισθήσεις και τη βιωματική χωρική εμπειρία και τα εντατικά και όχι μορφολογικά στοιχεία που συνιστούν την ατμόσφαιρα του χώρου. Ένας χώρος ή ένα αντικείμενο, ανεξαρτήτως του αν είναι επαρκώς σχεδιασμένα ή όχι, δεν καταφέρνει να μας ενεργοποιήσει το ενδιαφέρον μόνο με τις μορφές και τις λειτουργίες τους αλλά με την αίσθηση που αποδίδουν. Στον τομέα της αρχιτεκτονικής, αυτό εμφανίζεται μέσα από τη χρήση ή την κατοίκηση του χώρου, τις υφές των αντικειμένων και των υλικών, καθώς και τους ήχους που επαναφέρουν μνήμες. Τέλος, αναλύονται έργα των αρχιτεκτόνων Peter Zumthor και RCR Arquitectes που αντιπροσωπεύουν επιτυχώς όλα τα παραπάνω. The concept of spatial perception has occupied many architects and has been the subject of study in various fields directly or indirectly related to the field of architecture. This present research, through the experiential and perceptual spatial approach, focuses on specific theories that challenge the morphocratic and rationalist methods of understanding and managing the architectural space. The aim of the research is to study these representative theories and to understand the spatial planning of the atmosphere. In the first phase it examines the theories of existential phenomenology, in the second phase it focuses on the concept of place, as a specific territorial landscape and as a specific cultural context and in the third phase it focuses in the synthetic features of phenomenology such as light, materiality, atmosphere, physicality and direct bodily experience in relation to the senses. The theoretical research is supported by particular examples in architecture in which through design and principles of composition lead to a qualitative understanding of the multidimensional spatial phenomenon and thus to a more human-centered design. It concludes that it is essential, for an architect, to be mindful of what activates the senses and experiential spatial experience, rather than the intensive, not morphological elements that constitute the atmosphere of space. Regardless of whether a space or an object are adequately designed or not, they do not activate our interest only with their forms and functions, but by the feelings they convey. In the field of architecture, this appears with the use of space, the textures of the objects and the materials, and the sounds that bring back memories.
