In future practical applications, the reactive power injection capability of the grid-tied inverter is often required to compensate the voltage drop of the electric grid. Therefore, it is of great significance to develop a MOSFET-switches-based inverter that can provide reactive power support for the power grid. Based on the traditional Aalborg inverter, this paper proposes a new topology with the capability of reactive power injection. The principle of the proposed inverter is introduced through the equivalent circuits in details.
