As we move on to the age of information the need for data compression tendsto be vital and pivotal. Not only from the perspective of storage but equallyimportant from the perspective of data transfers and transactions. As weenter a period marked by steadily climbing energy prices, a serious issueemerges on how we can lower the cost of our power consumption but alsohow to lower our power consumption regarding the needs for green transitiondue to the climate change. In today’s fast-paced world, where bothaccuracy and speed are essential, the importance of doing things in parallelhas never been greater. All these matters can be emerged and resolved in thisproject. We tried to use a state-of-the-art lossless compression algorithm suchas LZ4 and combine it with the speed and the power benefits that the FPGAscan give us. Our goal is to reach the point of a fast decompression with zerolosses while in the meantime using the minimum physical resources we can.
