Near-zero energy hotels (nZEH) are environmentally friendly hotels designed to minimize energy consumption and utilize renewable energy sources. They offer benefits such as reduced energy costs, improved indoor environment, and lower environmental impact. However, initial construction and maintenance costs are higher. This thesis employed Sketchup and Openstudio to design and compare two hotel models, demonstrating an average 85% energy reduction with a €1,430,252.00 investment and a 9-year payback period. nZEHs have the potential to significantly decrease the hospitality industry's environmental footprint and provide sustainable options for travelers.
