The goal of this thesis is the development of a simulating model for a burner. Specifically, the modelling of this simulations has be done by using different types of fuels, such as methane and propane. In particular, the thesis is dealing with the development of a mathematical model for a burner. The mathematical model is describing the inlets and the outlets of the burner. Specifically, these descriptions are based on the chemical reaction of the combustion. Furthermore, there is implementation of simulating for methane and propane. As a result of this simulation is the conclusions, regarding the combustion of methane and propane. Simultaneously, there are comparisons between methane and propane, regarding the conclusions from the combustion (using them as fuel). The comparisons and the commenting of the differences and similarities between methane and propane, are written based on the results of simulating, and specifically the diagrams that include graphs. It should be mentioned that, for each fuel, many variables of the combustion can be change dramatically. For instance, the inlet rate of fuel or the temperature of the exhaust gases when they are coming out of the burner. It is clear that, each combustion using different type of fuels can have many differences. In the end, the thesis will present the characteristics for different types of fuel and their behavior during the combustion.
