Summary

In this thesis, an attempt is made to design a refugee camp, which will receive refugees from Somalia, the composition of which is based on the familiarity guide that emerged from the study of the research thesis " Emergency Relief - Forms of familiarity in Refugee Camps - Familiarity Guide ".From 1991 until today, the ongoing civil war in Somalia and the natural disasters caused by repeated droughts and floods have resulted in huge masses of displaced population. There is therefore a continuing need to host Somalis, either as refugees or internally displaced. With the average length of stay of refugees exceeding 17 years, it is clear that temporary solutions - tents - are not sufficient. Through this thesis, more durable solutions out of natural materials are sought, minimizing the visual and environmental trace of the construction. At the same time, in the context of the integration of refugees through a participatory process in construction, the thesis deals with an innovative structure, inspired by modern 3d printers, which makes the construction of the camp easier and partly automated. In the effort to minimize the environmental footprint, the use of natural materials and archetypal mechanisms and constructions is sought.
