This architecture thesis is about the redesign of a primary school and a kindergarten into one multifunctional center, which will house activities in addition to the educational frame and which are also accessible for the wider community. The school complex is designed at the foot of the mountain, at the imaginable border between the residential area and the natural landscape, in an attempt to follow the topography by creating inner schoolyards in between the classrooms, as gathering areas for the kids. The purpose of this design is to redefine the children’s connection with the school environment, nature and social life based on an educational model that will provide them a familiar environment with a variety of stimuli. One of them, related to the environmental education, will be the bioclimatic behaviour of the building.
