According to the Swiss architect Le Corbusier, "organically every form of volume is sometimes related to architecture and sometimes to sculpture and for this reason, to be an architect you must be a born sculptor and vice versa: if you are a sculptor, you must be a born architect. » In this work, Dimitris Pikionis and Christos Kapralos were studied. An architect and sculptor of the thirties. The purpose of this research paper is to study the relationship of D. Pikionis and C. Kapralos with matter, through the view given to them by their time, modern movement, in the folk tradition, Byzantine and archaic art as well as the way of their work. To achieve the goal, the methods followed were field research and bibliographic research with reference books for Christos Kapralos the ‘Autobiography completed by Souli Kapralou’, and for Dimitris Pikionis ‘Pikionis Dimitris, Architectutal work, vol. a-b’. Field photographs and material from the Archive of Modern Greek Architecture of the Benaki Museum for Dimitris Pikionis and from the archive of the National Sculpture Gallery for Christos Capralos were used for the photographic documentation.
