The purpose of this thesis, is the development of a software in the form of a computer application, for the calculation of various parameters for a surface blasting site. Briefly, the software is capable of calculating the burden with seven different equations and specifically design the surface blasting of a site with two of them (Langefors and Konya). Also, is capable of producing and depicting the results in 3D and 2D graphs, allows the comparison of the results and graphs, extract them in spreadsheets etc.This computer application is addressed mainly for the students of the Mineral Resources Engineering department of Technical University of Crete, so that through the graphical visualization of the results can better understand the concepts of surface blasting. Nonetheless, it can be of use to an engineer, for a first evaluation of the parameters, due to the speed of the calculations.The software was developed in total, in the MATLAB environment and programming language, with its tools for Graphical User Interface development (GUI), GUIDE and App Designer.
