Summary

The purpose of the dissertation is to create a computer program, in Python programming language for the optimal design of underground facade blasting in the form of a gallery with the Holmberg method. If one considers that in the underground mines 25% are development galleries plus the access, transport and ventilation galleries then it is understood why the efficient digging of galleries with the hybrid drilling-blasting technique is a significant technical problem. Taking into account all the limitations of this important technical problem such as design limitations and the limitations or objectives of mining performance, the Holmberg method was applied in Python programming language to solve it. The result includes the final table of explosives and ignition materials, the design of the boreholes and the firing order of the sewers for optimal drilling and blasting. The final program involves the use of two files. The first is in .json format which concerns the initial geometric parameters of the gallery and is determined by the respective operator. The second file is in .py format (Code_Blasting.py) which includes the Holmberg method implemented in Python programming language. The operator is asked to set the initial parameters in the config.json file and based on these, the program-program Code_Blasting.py will calculate through the code the optimal design of the blast. In this work, for safety reasons, the use of EM-EX explosive emulsion in cartridges of different diameters and lengths is pre-selected. In the central example of application of the method, the gallery to be drilled is 4 m high and 4.5 m wide with an arch 0.5 m high. The applicability of the algorithm is then checked in various gallery cross-section geometries. At the end, the results are evaluated and commented.
