The aim of the dissertation is to formulate an integrated, timely and realistic techno-economic study for the investment in a photovoltaic power unit of 399,20 KWp in the regional unit of Viotia of the region of Central Greece. The introduction refers to renewable energy sources with a focus on solar energy in order to better understand the landscape. Today's reality is recorded and relevant statistics are presented. It follows, on the basis of modern literature, a reference to photovoltaic elements, the photovoltaic phenomenon and the factors that affect the performance of photovoltaic elements. The technologies involved in a photovoltaic system (frames, inverters, wiring, supports, etc.) are also described, in order to form an integrated and modern view of the technological part of a photovoltaic Park. Then reference is made to the current institutional framework (laws, decisions, etc.) in order to better and faster processing of the investment (necessary approvals from bodies, licenses, etc.).The next section describes the design of a photovoltaic park of 399,20 KWp which is planned to be developed in an area of about 8 acres in an area of Livadia of the regional unit of Viotia. In particular, the mapping of the site, the required technological equipment of the photovoltaic unit, the siting, the calculation of wiring, the way of supporting the frames as well as the physical and lightning protection measures of the site and the licensing process are presented. Then the economic data is presented and the financial assessment of the investment follows. The assessment shall be carried out using the Net Present Value and internal rate of Return method. At the end, the conclusions are recorded and the economic proposal is formulated.
