The aim of this research is to decode natures techniques and logic and embody them to the architectural design. Firstly, the term biomimicry is defined, the means that are essential for the design process are separated, the designing tools and the ways of modeling as well as the different ways of biomimetic searches are categorized. After a brief chronology with selected examples, the architects that used biomimicry as a basic element for their designs are mentioned, along with the need for an ecological approach to the field of architecture as well. Lastly, the biomimetic approach of Achim Menges is deconstruct and the building technology he uses for his innovative research pavillions is explained.
