This paper studies the relationship between the airport and the city, focusing on the modern development models of the airport's wider area and the relationship they are developing with the city. Initially, what is the term airport - what functions includes air and non - air - is described and how this term has widened over time. Then, having emphasized the importance of the transport network to the development of the city - and considering the dominance of aviation in modern times - modern aerodrome development models are being studied in relation to the city. Therefore, Airport-City, Aerotropolis, Airport-corridor, Airea and Airport urbanism are being considered. Through the above development models and from the examples, there is also a bi-directional link between airport and city, the implications of the implementation of these structures are studied and the problems that arise are outlined. Finally, reference is made to the importance of integrating airport design into the urban and regulatory plan at local and national level. This perception is supported by the theories and examples that have been used, such as the model of Feeder Airport and mini Aerotropolis, and the affiliation that the airport has with the globalized city
