PM2.5 and PM10 ambient concentration levels arestill a major environmental problem in several urbanareas in the E.U., while new evidence of its long termimpacts on human health continues to emerge. TheCommission of E.C. is moving towards theimplementation of the thematic strategy on air Pollutionand requirements of lower limit values for PM in air willcome in effect. National Authorities will have to reevaluatethe present environmental policies andmeasures and develop new ones.
