Results from an integrated observational and modeling study of a typical Greek temporaryriver are presented. The mathematical model Hydrological Simulation Program – Fortran(HSPF) was used to simulate the hydrology, sediment transport and nutrient loads of Krathisriver basin. The model simulated the time response of the watershed based on geochemicaland hydrologic mass balances. The model captured the seasonal variability of the flow andthe concentrations of suspended solids and nutrients. Finally, the calibrated model was usedto simulate the effect of climate change to the hydrology and geochemistry of Krathis riverbasin.
