Particulate matter, (PM), measurements were performed during the period10.8.2007 – 28.8.2007 at the Akrotiri monitoring station on the island ofCrete, Greece. The main purpose was to measure the ambient levels of PM10and their concentrations of metals and ions in 9 different size bins withaerodynamic diameter less than 10 µm. The mean PM10 concentrationduring the measurement period was equal to 28.27 ± 12.42 µg/m3, whereasthe mean concentrations of the total measured ions and metals were 8.31 ±2.07 µg/m3 and 0.51 ± 0.47 µg/m3 respectively. Moreover, the mean dailyvalue of black carbon (BC) was 0.69 ± 0.22 µg/m3.
