Content Summary | The objective of this study was to achieve the
best estimation of the spatial distribution of
CaO/MgO oxides in the Kamari quarry (Greece)
owned by Titan Cement Co., by using an
integrated geological-geostatistical analysis.
This study would lead to a methodology that
may be used as a decision making tool for the
optimum design of a future core drilling
exploration programme. A comprehensive
account on the progress of the work carried out
up to day is given in this paper.
Recommendations on the exploration strategy
and a future drilling program in the studied
limestone quarry area are also proposed. It is
remarked here that the proposed methodology
may be easily applied to other engineering
applications, such as geotechnical engineering
and marble ore reserve estimation and quarrying
