Summary

The thesis concerns the development of a carbon fiber wheel for a low-consumption vehicle. The work aims to improve the wheel's energy efficiency. The design, which is the initial stage of the work, involves the analysis and study of the main parts (rim, wall, center) of the wheel, with respect to the specifications and requirements for each part, ensuring that the wheel meets the functional and mechanical requirements. A force simulation and analysis of the stresses to which the wheel is subjected during use is then carried out to ensure the strength and safe operation of the wheel under different conditions of use. Various materials are considered, with emphasis on carbon fiber's properties and the possibilities of optimizing the material layers to achieve the best possible performance in terms of weight and strength. The mold-making process, the vacuum diffusion technique, and the use of pre-impregnated materials are described, which contribute to the production of a wheel with high precision and quality. The paper concludes with a presentation of the results, where the wheel's performance is evaluated and compared with the original specifications. These results focus on achieving the objectives of reducing weight and ensuring the required strength, thus offering an integrated approach to the development of an innovative product that can significantly improve the energy efficiency of low-fuel-consumption vehicles.
