This research paper examines the relationship between architecture and meditation, focusing on the way in which spatial characteristics influence the mental and sensory experience of the meditator. It studies both the theoretical foundations and forms of meditation in various religious and cultural traditions, as well as the qualitative characteristics of space that enhance its practice, such as light, sound, texture, color and structure. The paper uses bibliographic and online sources to highlight the impact of architectural design on the psychological state of the user, emphasizing the creation of an environment that favors concentration, calm and mindfulness. An interdisciplinary approach is attempted that combines elements from architecture, psychology, philosophy and neuroscience. The final conclusion is that the architect is called upon to incorporate design tools that serve not only aesthetics, but also the mental health and well-being of the individual, offering spatial experiences that essentially support the meditative process.
