This thesis focuses on the design of a building structure within the area where the Dromokaiteion Psychiatric Clinic exists in Athens, aiming at the holistic treatment and social reintegration of its patients. The proposed building functions as an intermediate space between the clinic and the wider community, promoting the interaction and integration of patients in a safe and supportive environment. The building program includes therapeutic spaces, creative and professional activity workshops, as well as shared spaces for interaction with the public, such as a cafeteria, library and event halls. The architectural composition is based on the principles of therapeutic architecture, utilizing natural light, open spaces, greenery and mental health-friendly spatial and material qualities. The design seeks to remove the stigma of people with mental disorders, strengthening their connection to society and creating an environment that encourages autonomy and vocational rehabilitation. Through this structure, mental health is treated not only as a medical issue, but as a dynamic process related to collective life and social participation.
