Working at heights for the installation, maintenance, and repair of medium-voltage overhead networks for HEDNO (Hellenic Electricity Distribution Network Operator) involves significant risks, such as exposure to high-voltage electrical currents and altitude. To minimize these risks, strict safety protocols must be implemented, and specialized Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) must be used, including insulated helmets, high-resistance gloves, protective goggles, non-slip boots, and safety harnesses. Proper training of workers in the use of PPE and adherence to safety procedures are crucial. Key factors in accident prevention include the correct use of tools, the implementation of safe work methods, and the regular maintenance of equipment. Compliance with safety regulations at both national and European levels, as well as internal regulations of HEDNO, ensures the health and safety of employees. At the same time, emphasis is placed on the use of the Occupational Risk Scale, an assessment tool that identifies the level of risk to employees' health and safety. This scale considers physical, chemical, biological, ergonomic, and psychosocial factors, enabling regulatory authorities to implement preventive measures aimed at ensuring compliance with health and safety standards. Through this scale, risks can be identified and addressed more effectively, ensuring a safe working environment. Finally, the installation of medium-voltage overhead networks carried out by HEDNO involves specific construction and maintenance steps for the transmission of electrical energy from substations to consumers, ensuring the safe and efficient operation of the network.
