Summary

The research work aims to investigate the planning methodologies for the smooth integration of disabled people into a social environment, in which they will have the possibility to be independent and coexist harmoniously within a whole. It examines how sensory design can improve accessibility and quality of life for people with disabilities. With the help of sensory design tools, which are analysed in the research work, the main purpose is the integration of the senses (such as sight, hearing, touch, etc.) creating a familiar space, which will meet the needs of these persons. The association of the two main pillars, disability and sensory design, is achieved with an index of architectural examples and tools that will be the key to creating new spaces that will be accessible to all users.
