Environmental & Urban Upgrade in the Area of Agios Ioannis, Chania, Based on the LEED Evaluation StandardThis thesis examines the area of Agios Ioannis in Chania through the lens of the LEED evaluation standard. The objective is to improve green spaces and develop sustainable urban mobility networks. This is achieved through traffic redesign, the integration of the military camp, and the addition of new infrastructure, combined with modifications to building regulations.The proposal highlights the enhancement of the area's identity and its upgrade through urban planning strategies that promote sustainability while respecting the needs of residents. The study emphasizes the complex yet necessary interaction between cultural and environmental factors in urban development.
