The neighborhood of Kypseli in Athens is the research area of the present thesis, with the aim of a new urban planning organization and a framework of spatial policy proposals, which will attempt to replace its structural and social problems in terms of inclusive functioning and sustainability. The analysis and evaluation of the existing situation, which constitute the first part of the thesis, identify the weaknesses and possibilities inherent in land uses, the housing stock and public spaces, record the traffic networks of vehicles and pedestrians, calculate the building conditions and their deviations from the statutory ones, while also taking into account special social elements that need to be studied, such as the cultural and ethnic origins of Kypseli. In the second part of the thesis, the frameworks of changes on an urban planning scale are proposed, with the aim of regulating the issues that emerge from the conclusions of the first part, in order to achieve the change of the life conditions in the area based on the guiding principles that are set in the central purpose of our thesis.
