This research paper focuses on the interaction between flexible space and furniture. The aim is to analyse flexibility and adaptability in architecture and to explore how furniture can contribute to the functionality and adaptability of flexible spaces, allowing them to be rapidly and efficiently adapted for different uses. Initially, the paper identifies the conditions under which a space is flexible and adaptable and highlights the importance of flexibility in contemporary spaces. It then delves into the theoretical framework, analysing the historical roots, design strategies and benefits of flexible spaces. The study includes an analysis of examples where the use of furniture has enabled adaptation to different needs and functions.
